Are you a coffee junkie or a tea fanatic? Do you look forward to your morning brewing ritual with reverence or enjoy stretching out that first sip of the morning into an all-day affair? You’ll be able to do just that on Sunday, April 22nd at A Cup of the Valley Coffee and Tea Festival. The Poughkeepsie South and Wappingers Falls Rotary Clubs are presenting the event, which will take place at the Culinary Institute’s Marriott Pavilion from 11am to 5pm.

Festival-goers will taste imported coffees and teas, as well as locally-made concoctions. Hudson Valley/Dutchess County purveyors will include Irving Farm Coffee Roasters, Harney and Sons Fine Teas, the Dutchess Coffee Company, North River Roasters, the Poughkeepsie Grind, and many more.

Also percolating on the Festival’s itinerary are special exhibitions on roasting and brewing coffee and a traditional Japanese tea ceremony serving Matcha. If you’re a whiz with the foam-work, register to be a contestant in the Latte Art Competition. You could win the buy-in pot (of actual money, not coffee) and bragging rights for the year. Additionally, bands will be playing live music all day upstairs at the Pavilion’s Auditorium.

Starting to get buzzed about this festival? Purchase advanced tickets for $17 or $20 on the day of the event. Children 16 and under can get in for free with adult supervision.

Visit Dutchess Tourism online for more information on the festival’s offerings as well as how to purchase advance tickets.

See you at A Cup of the Valley!
