An Alternative to VRBO, and a $59/night Bungalow

Check out this place. It’s a teeny tiny bungalow near Windham Mountain, with its own website and a video made through the services of Trip Advisor. Rental rates start at $59 per night, which is pretty good if you’re looking for affordable accommodations near upstate New York ski resorts.

But I’m more interested in the video than the bungalow, for once, if only because I haven’t seen this particular marketing device before. Alas, the embed code did not actually work, as you can see above, so maybe this isn’t the greatest way to advertise your country house, by using what’s called “TripWow” on TripAdvisor. But at least it’s a tool available to you besides HomeAway, which owns VRBO and CyberRentals and, as far as we can tell, every other vacation rental site known to man.

Has anyone else listed their rental properties on TripAdvisor, or rented one from there? How’d it go?
