Bright, Vibrant Beacon NY Loft in an Historic Brick Building, $550K

  |  January 22, 2018

The building itself might be 135 years old, but this Beacon, NY loft boasts a modern update within…

Beacon has a well-known penchant for renovating the brick factories located along the Fishkill Creek, modernizing them for a new era.

This 1,860-square-foot loft at 5 Hanna Lane is one such modern space, resplendent with soaring 25-foot ceilings and 13-foot windows. The open first floor includes a living room/dining room/kitchen with additional space to use as a library, music room, or sitting room. Meanwhile, the floating staircase leads to the second floor sleeping loft suite with renovated bath.

With a constant flood of light from the windows, its glow is perhaps our favorite feature of this loft. The details, however, make it a complete package. Exposed brick and chestnut posts and beams bring this dwelling down to earth, creating warmth within the brightness. The floating staircase, wire railings, and stainless steel kitchen counters exemplify its modern leanings.

Additionally, there’s a patio/garden with new stone pathway outside the front entrance.

The loft is located right in the heart of Beacon with the Roundhouse, Hudson Valley Brewery, retail shops, and a dog park just a short stroll away. If you love hiking, the Mount Beacon trail head is a few minutes east opposite the Fishkill Creek.

Plan to commute by rail? Beacon is a stop on the Metro North line five minutes by from the loft. Situated on the eastern side of the Hudson River, Beacon city in Dutchess County is close to the rest of the Mid-Hudson Valley and the Catskill and Berkshire Mountains.
