Get your fly rod ready, folks. We’ve just gotten word from the Sullivan County Visitors Association that trout season begins this weekend, and a series of celebratory events in Livingston Manor will mark the occasion.

Here’s what they’ve listed:

9:30AM — Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum (CFFCM) will officially launch the 2012 season with an All Star Cast.  This year’s ceremony will be held in front of CFFCM on the Willowemoc Creek. This year’s celebration will be bigger and better than ever.  Everyone is invited, bring your own rod and waders. Following the all star cast, join Mike Canazon and the Bamboo boys from 11AM to 1PM at the Livingston Manor High School. In the museum, enjoy a demonstration and hot soup from Agnes Van Put.

7AM-Noon — Pancake Breakfast at the Firehouse in Livingston Manor

10AM-3PM — Fly Tyers Rendezvous

1:30 PM — Everyone is welcome for the official ribbon cutting of the new Agnes Van Put Kitchen, followed by a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the Catskill Rodmaking Workshop and Heritage Craft Center.
