Who Wants a Victorian Fixer-Upper? This one in Ferndale Looks Promising for $99K

  |  July 13, 2018

Imagine the grand possibilities in this western Catskills Victorian fixer-upper…

File this one under: Look Past the Clutter. Because we’ve seen past it, and, in the right hands, this could be one handsome home.

Situated in central Sullivan County, this c.1901 three-bedroom comes with 2.21 acres of land in the western Catskill Mountains, close to Bethel (home of the original Woodstock), Liberty, and Monticello, Livingston Manor, and Roscoe (AKA Trout Town USA). Both Ulster County to the east and the Delaware River to the west are about a half-hour away, respectively.

According to the listing, this house received its most recent remodel in 1985, and it shows in the skylights and brick facade of the living room fireplace. However, the general condition of the 2,624-square-foot interior isn’t half-bad, with high ceilings, wood floors, and large bedrooms. The only listing photos of the home’s baths show that a serious remodel is in order.

Here’s a little something extra: This property includes a guest cottage! A five-figure property (fixer-upper or otherwise) with a guest house? An uncommon find, indeed.
