Church + House + Studio, Cottekill, $349,000

  |  March 16, 2012

We might be missing something here, and we trust that you, our fabulous and staggeringly brilliant readership, will explain why this church is bordering on affordable. At the risk of becoming overly effusive, we will refrain from pointing out that it’s stunning. So here are some pictures, and you can decide for yourselves if it’s drool-worthy.

Here’s the low-down on this property: The church is connected to a house by a breezeway. The church itself is 1,000 square feet, and the house is 1,900 square feet with two bedrooms and 2.5 baths. So you’re looking at nearly 3,000 square feet total, which comes down to about $120/square foot for those playing at home. Oh but wait! There’s more! There’s an additional 400-square foot studio (complete with half-bath and office) that we’re not even factoring into the above math, so feel free to get out your abacus and throw that in the mix.

The church can be used for a variety of things that happen in big, church-like spaces. Last November, it was used for this event right here. It’s not on a whole lot of land or anything, just a typical residential half-acre (okay, .77 acres), but it’s located in Cottekill, which is close to places like Stone Ridge (former Town of the Week) and Rosendale (another former Town of the Week). Davenport’s Farm Stand is just a few minutes away, too.

“Please shut up and show us more pictures,” you’re thinking. Okay okay! Here you go:

If you want to see more, there’s a whole website devoted to this place right here. Lots of info on the property’s history, plus additional eye-candy.
