Colonial Farmhouse in Stephentown, $495,000
Kandy Harris | February 11, 2013Eleven acres right on the Kinderhook Creek in Stephentown, complete with its own swimming hole. Sounds delightful, doesn’t it? This circa-1810 colonial has clearly been extensively renovated inside and out, and sometimes, we prefer a little less renovating. But this one at least keeps a few of the good things from back in the day, like the wooden beams. And we love the stone work in the backyard, the screened-in porch, and the seating area on the banks of the creek. Makes us want to plop down a couple of chairs and listen to some burbling. Great kitchen, too, and lots of lovely views from the windows.
