Find Comfort in this Columbia County Contemporary Cottage, $299K

This Columbia County Contemporary cottage might be simple, but it’s far from boring…

Built in 1996, this cottage situated along the Claverack Creek fits in nicely with our Contemporary Modern theme this week. And, it seems perfect for someone looking to downsize or buy a second home with all the comforts of a main residence.

The cottage ticks the boxes for desirable Contemporary design features with high ceilings, open floor plan, windows/skylights, sliding glass doors, and a living room wood stove. However, what makes this house more than a simple country cottage is that it comes with central A/C and a second bath.

Frankly, they had us at “central A/C.”

Moreover, we love the rich crimson tone of the living room/dining room, the kitchen’s stainless steel appliances, and the knotty-pine wainscoted ceilings. It all fits together to create a comfortable, warm dwelling in a private setting.

Speaking of setting, you’ll likely spend time basking in it, thanks to the wrap-around deck and two acres’-worth of land. Need to emerge from the woods every now and then? Fear not. Civilization is but 5 minutes away.

Located in southern Columbia County about 15 minutes from the Hudson Amtrak station. The Taconic State Parkways is less than 10.

But wait! There’s still more to learn about 98 Patroon Street, Claverack. Get the scoop on this Columbia County Contemporary cottage here
