Cool Craftsman Bungalow in Goshen, $260,000
Kandy Harris | March 24, 2015We’ve always liked the historic village of Goshen in Orange County. In fact, a few years back, we wrote about a walking tour your can take that will hit all of the big history spots in town. Goshen is also home to the Orange County Government Building, a unique piece of Hudson Valley architecture that we’ve also written about here on the blog. Cute homes in Goshen, mostly inexpensive, but it’s really the Orange County property taxes that keep us from waxing too effusive over…well, anywhere in Orange County, to be honest. It’s one of the few places we can think of where your tax bill and mortgage could come out neck and neck. Regardless, we can’t ignore a nice property when we see one, including this early 20th century Craftsman-style house walking distance to the center of the village. Lovely, indeed, but what sealed it for us is the yard size, nearly a quarter-acre. Not great for out-of-town living, but a good for a residential neighborhood. Even the taxes aren’t that bad here. At least they’re still in the four figure range.
