More Country Cabin than Mobile Home in Livingston Manor, $55,000
Kandy Harris | February 18, 2016We’re checking this one off our property bucket list. For months, we’ve been pouring over the listings in the search for a mobile home. There are plenty for sure, some in okay condition, some of them on lots of land. However, we hadn’t been able to find something that fit in with our extremely subjective aesthetic taste (shag carpeting and particle board paneled walls with vinyl wood veneers aren’t our favorite features)…until today.
So, never thought we’d say this, but, check out this delightful, funky 450 sq. ft. mobile home situated in the Catskills. Just large enough to work as a weekend cabin for two (or, maybe even better, one), the 1 bed/1 bath oasis comes with a new roof, gazebo, and attached deck for lounging and grilling. The listing references that it’s been a $125/night vacation rental, if income is what you’re after. But we’re not sure we could share this quarter-acre mini-retreat walking distance from Livingston Manor hamlet.
Livingston Manor in Sullivan County boasts a population of just over 1,000 and a whole-lotta charm and history. However, given its location where the Willowemoc Creek and the Little Beaver Kill meet, the area has had its flooding issues, and this property is classified as High-Risk by Floodsmart.gov. That might diminish its charm a little for us, but only a little.
31 Spring Street, Livingston Manor (RM Farm Realty)
