Cube in Carmel, $450,000

  |  March 29, 2012

It’s a box! Or a replica of the Borg spaceship from Star Trek: Next Generation? It’s certainly unique, and it’s sitting on lots of land, almost 12 acres-worth.

Located nearly equidistant between Black Pond and White Pond, this property is east of the Taconic and surrounded by wilderness exploration opportunities galore, like the Big Buck Mountain and White Pond Multiple Use areas. Although the price is high for a 854 square foot, 2 bedroom/1 bath housebox, the acreage upon which it sits could be subdivided.

Admittedly, the land and the outside of the house are a bit nicer than the inside. It’s cluttered, too, which doesn’t do the photos any favors. The bathroom and kitchen look like they could use some serious sprucing, but the living room looks okay. And it has a fireplace, albeit slightly blackened.

The property and its environs certainly provide a nice backdrop to the uniqueness of the house, and maybe some updates, clean-ups, repaints, and upgrades could make it  even cooler. Oh, and perhaps someone can tell us what we’re looking at in this picture here:
