Delaware Co. Refurbished Grist Mill Featured in NYT now On the Market for $575,000
Kandy Harris | December 21, 2015This beauty of a rebuilt barn has been tucked away on our favorites list for a while. Well, no time like the present, especially since it might be our most favorite grist mill rehab on the market in 2015.
Yeah, that’s right. We’ve had more than one.
The c.1856 grist mill situated on Middle Brook was renovated by artist Jan Green, and talk about a labor of love. Get the details on its restoration from the NYT article, but suffice it to say, hand-scrubbing floorboards on her hands and knees until they were spotless is just one of the painstaking chores it took to bring the mill back to life.
And lively it is. We gotta hand it to Ms. Green. Those hand scrubbed floorboards look gorgeous, and we love the secret hatch leading from the kitchen to downstairs. What’s more, this is no Tiny House with 4500 sq. ft. of elbow room. Property also includes terraced patios and landscaping, as well as a spot right next to a waterfall. But of course it is. That’s what you get with a grist mill.
Located 3 hours from NYC.
