In a region renowned for its foodiness, the 25th annual Taste of New Paltz stands out as one of the foodiest events of them all. It’s pretty simple: Chefs and beverage makes from all over the Hudson Valley, Catskills, and beyond gather at the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz for one late-summer day  (this year, it’s Saturday, September 19 11am-6pm), and attendees sample everything they have to offer. Consider it one-stop shopping for the very best of eating and drinking in the region. Over 60 vendors will be featured at this year’s Taste, including restaurants, wineries, and distilleries, plus crafts like jewelry, clothing, and pottery from area makers.

On this their 25th anniversary, the Taste of New Paltz, New Paltz Chamber of Commerce’s biggest fundraiser, is presenting the Rare Beer Experience. Tasters can sip rare beers from around the world plus complimentary cheese tasting, and walk away with a commemorative tasting glass. Three tastings throughout the day $20/advance, $25/door.

Taste of New Paltz admission is $7/advance, $10/day of event for an all-day wrist band. Kids 12 & under are free. Tastes from participating restaurants cost $2-$3. That’s cheaper than a matinee, and the food is much better.
