Economical Victorian in Catskill Village in Need of a Stylish Touch, $199,000

  |  June 29, 2017

Remember back when you could buy a sweet, antique Victorian in Catskill village for dirt-cheap and fix it up? Well, it might be harder to do these days, but we still managed to find this three bedroom, 1625-square foot Victorian with a nice exterior listed for less than $200K. We even let our “no terrible listing photos” rule slide because the possibilities are just too tantalizing to pass it up based on less-than-ideal pictures.

What we can see includes hardwood floors and wood trim, along with a wood fireplace mantel (fireplace closed off), formal dining room, large kitchen, and plenty of big windows for lots of natural light. The listing also reveals that the house includes a walk-up attic (oooh, loft master bedroom, anyone?) and a full basement. Sounds like more than enough space to us. All it needs is someone with a deft hand at personalizing, decorating, and polishing up to make it glow.

Located in the village, across the Catskill Creek from Catskill’s Main Street area. From here, it takes about 10 minutes to get to Hudson city in Columbia County and about five minutes from exit 21 on the NYS I-87 Thruway.

147 W. Bridge Street, Catskill (Win Morrison)
