Elegant and Minimal in Downtown Troy

  |  April 14, 2017

Let’s wrap up this week with a weekend retreat. We’ve scouted out a lovely full-apartment AirBnB right in the middle of downtown Troy, and the pictures seem to show a gorgeously decorated apartment, chic and elegant with neutral grays and whites. With two bedrooms and an additional air mattress available, the accommodations can house six people comfortably. The owners are a husband and wife team of architect and designer, and the space is truly welcoming.

Downtown Troy is nothing to shake a stick at either. The hosts have given us their recommendations, which include the restaurants, The Illium, Brown’s Brewing Company, a taproom with an abbreviated menu specifically tailored to the seasonal beer offerings, and the food-truck and brick and mortar shop Slidin’ Dirty, which specializes in burgers, appetizers and award winning man n’ cheese. Graciela and Kyle, the hosts of this modern daydream, also have some suggestions for nightlife, including the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, the Takk House (next door) and the riverfront farmer’s market.

A few reviews should seal the deal, as Troy is a weekend get away begging to be taken:

Shela, from Austin: “My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Graciela’s apartment. It’s in a fantastic location in downtown Troy, beautifully decorated, and comfortable beds!

Stephanie, from Arlington, Virginia: “Great location for exploring Troy and enjoying the area. The apartment is spacious and has lots of light. Kyle and Graciela were very helpful and answered any questions quickly. The food scene in Troy is great and we enjoyed our 2-week stay.

And we finally have Jonathan, from NYC: “Graciela and Kyle were very easy to communicate with and their space was great. It was much bigger than I expected; must’ve been the high ceilings. It was in a very accessible area and parking out front was quite easy. I would stay here again.

See for yourself, and don’t forget to book your stay!
