Expecting Good Things for Fall Foliage Season

Last year, if you recall, fall was kind of a dud: leaves turned a dull brown, rather than brilliant oranges and reds, and seemed to fade away rather than cascade dramatically to the ground. It significantly dampened the seasonal pastime of leaf-peeping.

This year, we’re on track for a rainbow of turning leaves, reports the AP. No matter the drought or a recent cold snap — they “won’t have much effect on this fall’s foliage color in New York.”

Meanwhile, Sullivan County is getting ready for prime time autumn — fall tourism generates some $400 million a year, YNN reports. Activities include the Villa Roma‘s first annual haunted hottel, farm tours, corn mazes, kayaking, and concerts. More info on fall fun at the Sullivan County Visitors’ Association.
