First Came Goats and Yoga…
Kandy Harris | August 10, 2017…then came Cows and Sculpture. It’s an idea that’s time has come, and it’s happening in Garrison, Putnam County. The Collaborative Concepts Farm Project 2017 combines large sculptures with an agrarian outdoor environment, cattle included.
Saunders Farm plays host to the unusual and whimsical pairing and will feature experimental pieces by Chuck von Schmidt, Simone Kestelman, Chris Plaisted, and Andre Voumard. Artists will also make pieces inspired by Saunders Farm’s bovine inhabitants like Conrad Levenson’s “Grazing Cultivores,” steel skeletal cattle grazing under the trees.
The opening reception is Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 2pm to 6pm at Saunders Farm, 825 Old Albany Post Rd, Garrison, NY. Mid-run reception is Saturday, October 7, 2pm to 6pm. The last day the exhibit will be open to the public is Saturday, October 28. See them all before they’ve moooooooved on. Sorry. Couldn’t resist.
