Fix Up an Antique Home in the Village of Catskill, $95,900
Kandy Harris | November 6, 2015Welcome to your Friday dose of boundless potential. This one is a c.1917 two-story home in Catskill village with soaring ceilings, loads of windows, and 1500 sq.ft. of interior space (3 beds/1 bath). Doesn’t look half bad to us aside from needing to be reinvigorated and updated. Includes a formal dining, big kitchen, double living rooms, and a full basement, which adds up to a fair amount of house for $63/square foot. Postage stamp yard is less than a 10th of an acre in size, but hey. At least the taxes are cheap at around $2500/year. We think that with the right amount of sprucing up, this could be one of those older homes that makes you slow down and take a closer look while you’re driving through the village. Speaking of which, the house is walking distance to village amenities and the Hudson waterfront. The nearest NYS Thruway exit is 10 minutes away, and a quick hop over the Rip Van Winkle Bridge will put you a stone’s throw from Hudson.
