This Fall, our friends at Workstead, finished their fist full hotel project now open in the Hudson Valley. Workstead is a design studio, founded in 2009 by Stefanie Brechbuehler and Robert Highsmith, located in Brooklyn New York and the Hudson Valley, where they focus on architectural and interior design, lighting, furniture, and exhibitions. We have looked at the work from Workstead in a past post but recently they completed a charming 27-room hotel in Hudson, NY called the Rivertown Lodge.

Inspired by the material simplicity of early New England interiors, the sensibility of the hotel is timeless yet playful, with a nod to traditional Hudson Valley and early American forms. The sturdy, two-storey building from the 1920s was previously a motor inn, and the town’s cinema before that. Workstead custom-made a number of items specifically for the hotel, including their latest lighting collection, entitled the Orbit Series. To browse the collection, visit their shop.
