Big, Beautiful (with some work) Six-Bedroom Home in Haines Falls, $175K

  |  March 9, 2018

Thought you could only find a low-priced vintage home in Philmont or Napanoch? Guess again…

If you were hoping for a five-figure property today, you will have to journey back in time to yesterday when we featured this home in Napanoch. Meanwhile, the Greene County farmhouse depicted above is still a proper bargain. Particularly so, when you consider its list price amounts to $53/square foot. This is just the type of house we’ve been looking for this week.

And, like some of the other homes we’ve featured this week, this one is need of some TLC. Make that a good amount of TLC. Some rooms are stripped, the floors need refinishing, new paint is in order, and the kitchen lacks cabinetry. It does have a new roof, however, and it looks like one of the two baths has a new jetted tub.

Also comes with a stone fireplace, dining room wood stove, and over 3,300 square feet of space inside. Granted, a house this big can be both a blessing and a curse. It’s great if you need the room, but possibly less great if you plan to do a lot of renovating, because…well, there’s more renovate.

Regardless, there’s something appealing about an old Catskills farmhouse in need of a shine. The possibilities seem endless.

Located just north of Haines Falls and Tannersville, close to North/South Lake, Hunter Mountain, and Palenville.
