Hillsdale Custom Adirondack, $700,000
Kandy Harris | July 15, 2013As much as we adore old Victorians, stately Colonials and Federal-styles, Gothics, and Greek Revivals, we start to get desensitized by them after looking at so many. That’s why we get excited when we find a eclectic property that’s not beholden to a particular style, one that looks a collage of things we didn’t expect to see put together but somehow, they all work. That’s what we thought when we found this unique house located in the Columbia County town of Hillsdale, our Town of the Week. It’s rustic in parts, modern in parts, reminiscent of an Adirondack hunting lodge in other parts, and then, all of a sudden, there’s that gorgeous bright and sunny bedroom that looks like it stepped right out of a resort brochure. There are tons of pictures on the listing page. It’s worth your time to look at them. Property sits on 5 acres right next door to Rodgers Book Barn. In fact, we suspect this is the owner’s house.
