Escape to the Hudson Valley on the Catskill Carriage August 3-5

Catskill Carriage is offering a pilot program for their bus service from NYC to the Hudson Valley in early August, making stops in New Paltz, Kingston, Phoenicia, and Hunter…

If you’ve always wanted to check out Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, the Senate Garage in Kingston, the Sportsman’s Alamo Cantina in Phoenicia, and Scribner’s Catskill Lodge in Hunter, you’ll be able to do it all in one weekend. Catskill Carriage‘s bus departs the Haymaker Bar in Chelsea on Friday, August 3, at 3pm and makes its first stop at Mohonk. By 6:10, you’ll be at the Senate, the Sportsman’s Cantina by 6:50, and finishing the evening at Scribner’s** by 7:10pm.

On Sunday, August 5th, the carriage heads back to Manhattan, departing from Scribner’s at 2pm and ending at Haymaker in Manhattan by 6:30pm. Oh, and did we mention that the southbound trip also stops at Alamo Cantina, Senate garage, and Mohonk on the way back? That’s one helluva pub-crawl, with the Hudson Valley and the Catskill Mountains all rolled into one weekend. What you choose to do on the Saturday between bus rides…well, that’s none of our business.

Tickets for the August 3-5 excursion are $110 round trip, $55 one-way north/southbound. Currently running bus trips to other upstate New York locations, Catskill Carriage’s luxury bus (think WIFI, outlets, comfy seats, etc.) will depart at 3pm on Fridays in NYC, and 3pm on Sunday from the Catskills. They also offer other weekend bus trips that serve Manhattan, Monticello, Livingston Manor and Roscoe, as well as shuttle service between Monticello, Bethel, and Callicoon. Riders on the Hudson Valley pilot line are entered to win a $500 gift certificate to the Mohonk Mountain House.

**By the way – we looked into reserving a room at Scribner’s Catskill Lodge in Hunter from August 3-5, and it’s booked solid. You might find something at another Hunter inn or an Airbnb, but book now. This is the high-HIGH season in the Catskills.
