The Hudson Valley in Stereotypes
Upstater Staff | January 14, 2015The Hudson Valley is jam-packed with artsy-fartsy food snobs who are too smart for their own good. Well, according to this recent list from Movoto.com. Other fun generalizations include a love of folk music, the fact that we’re all hippies (actually hippies, not just the trust fund kind), we have a lot of ambivalence toward NYC, we’re winos, we love collecting other people’s old junk, and we’re intelligent. Some of these lean toward the accurate side. We think a lot of people can relate to the feelings outlined in #1, and many of us certainly know better than to poo-poo some good local wine. However, just like anywhere else, the Hudson Valley is comprised of a whole mixed bag of personality types, interests, occupations, and cultural backgrounds, not to mention wildly varying degrees of intelligence. You, dear readers, fall on the high side of that last one, as we all know. So, what do you think? Did Movoto nail it, or do you call foul on this list?
