Keep Shopping Small in the Catskills on Saturday

small business saturday

We already told you where to shop local in the Hudson Valley this weekend. But what about up in the mountains? Yep, it’s happening there, too. That means you can take a break from the slopes to check out some local holiday markets there, courtesy Pure Catskills, an organization that promotes Catskill Mountain products, locations, and events. On Saturday, shoppers can get all of their gift buying taken care in one pass without having to set one foot in mall or big-box store. It’s convenient, sure, but the warm-fuzzies one gets from supporting a small business come free with every purchase. So if you’re up near Delaware County this weekend, check out the following markets. Or, have a look at Pure Catskills’ member directory for other places to spend your dough.

Burn Ayr Farm Holiday Pop-up Market, 31031 State Route 28, Delhi (GMAP):

Vendors and products include Burn Ayr Farm Meats, Ideuma Creek Alpaca, Annie Hayes hooked rugs and organic soaps, Maplewood Farm, and Greentree Home Candles. 10am-3pm.

Lucky Dog Farm Store Holiday Market, 35796 State Highway 10 (Main Street), Hamden (GMAP):

Luck Dog Farm store will be selling their own wares. Also on hand: Cowbella Creamery, Rachelle’s Rustic Wreath, Discomedusa, and Roscoe NY Beer Company. Complimentary hot cider while you shop. 12pm-3pm.

Christmas at the Creamery, Maple Shade Farm, Bovina (GMAP):

This one runs today (Friday) until 6pm as well as Saturday, 10am-4pm. Lots of gifts and antiques as well as season items, like wreaths, ornaments, and trees. Food, too. More info on the Maple Shade Farm website.
