Make an Economical Choice in Putnam County with this Colonial, $100,000
Kandy Harris | April 29, 2016How could it be? How could a house look this good on the outside, come with 6.5 acres, and be located in pricey Putnam County, all while listing for $100,000? Misprint? Mistake? Magic? Or, it could be that it’s located in Putnam Valley, which is not (in case you’re unfamiliar with the area) anything like Cold Spring or Garrison, where the housing prices are much higher. In spite of its relative close proximity to NYC (a little over an hour to midtown), this is still considered the countryside.
The interior does not look to be in shambles. In fact, the kitchen looks nice, and we definitely hardwood floors in good shape. Includes 1800 square feet, 3 beds/1 bath, a finished attic, and, as mentioned, a whole bunch of land. Also a short distance to the Taconic Parkway.
Taxes for 2014 were nearly $10,000/year, just exactly what we’d expect in Putnam County. However, the listing states the taxes are currently in grievance, so hey. Next year might not be quite so bad, tax-wise.
651 Peekskill Hollow Road, Putnam Valley (Keller Williams)
