Meet Your New Project: A Four-Bedroom Gothic Victorian in Catskill Village, $53,000
Kandy Harris | May 13, 2016I remember going inside this house in Catskill village around ten years ago. Back then, it was on the market, as it is now, but I don’t recall the listing price. What I do recall, however, is that I fantasized about owning this house, even considered it for a minute, and thought, “Some lucky person is going to buy this place and make it beautiful again.”
Clearly that hasn’t happened yet, but that hasn’t dulled my flights of fancy much. There’s a fair amount of work that needs to be done with this turn-of-the-century, 1700 square foot home, though the existing raw materials – hardwood floors, tile fireplace, floor-to-ceiling and bay windows galore, original moldings, Gothic panes on the glass, and grand staircase – make it an attractive prospect.
Situated on a dead-end street in the Greene County village, close to the Catskill Creek and just blocks from town. How would you bring this old knock-out back to life?
145 North Street, Catskill (Greene County Realty)
