We’re deep into summer now, so all those “lazy” days with the kids home from school might be starting to feel a little long in the tooth by mid-July. Need to get out of the house and spend the evening somewhere fun…and possibly air-conditioned? Here are some options for Tuesday through Thursday, July 11-13, pulled from Chronogram.com’s inclusive events calendar:

Catch a Film at the Rosendale Theater on Tuesday, July 11th:

You and I both know that, when it’s hot outside, sitting in a dark, air-conditioned movie theater is where it’s at. Rosendale Theater’s Music Fan Series has got you covered with ‘Danny Says,’ documentary on the life of Danny Fields who worked for the Doors, Cream, Lou Reed, Nico, and Judy Collins and managing the Stooges, the MC5, and the Ramones. Q&A with director Brendan Toller. Admission is $8 for the public and $6 for members. www.rosendaletheater.org.

Bask in Live Jazz at the Falcon Underground Jazz Sessions on Wednesday, July 12th:

Go listen to live music. You know you won’t regret it, especially if you spend the evening at the Falcon in Marlboro, southern Ulster County. This hidden gem of a music venue offers Jazz Sessions this Wednesday starting at 7pm in the Falcon Underground, the restaurant/venue’s taproom and beer garden, AKA “the pub beneath the club.” www.liveatthefalcon.com.

Spend the Afternoon Creatively with the Kids at Fiber Flame on Thursday, July 13th.

Or, you can drop them off at Fiber Flame on Route 212 in Saugerties between 3:30 and 5pm every Thursday for Creative Space. Participants can play with arts and crafts to their heart’s content, with grown-ups or without. $20 for drop-in (includes materials) or purchase a class card. www.fiberflamestudio.com.
