Monroe Bungalow, $279,900
Kandy Harris | June 10, 2013
This sweet little bungalow-style property isn’t a lake house per se, but it does face the lake, which is right across the street and can be seen from the front sun room. We love the interior, which is cozy and warm-looking. There’s just something about that color of light sage green that this house has in the interior that makes it feel cheerful and comforting. Also includes a stone fireplace, beamed ceilings, hard-wood floors, and a roomy kitchen. Building experts: Should potential buyers be concerned about the asbestos siding? That’s the one of the things that’s sticking in our craw. Plus, the taxes on this property are high for a modest home outside of the village of Monroe on only a half-acre of land. However, that seems fairly typical for a lot of places in Orange County. Oh, upstate taxes: Why you gotta be so mean?
