From offMetro: Hunter or Windham? The Answer is…
Staff | January 31, 2017
…well, both, actually, depending on what you’re looking for in a friendly neighborhood ski/snowboarding mountain. offMetro.com via HuffPo did the leg work for you, just in case you’re either new to the Catskills or to winter sports. According to the article, here’s what they have in common: Both are about 2.5 hours from NYC, both are accessible via public transportation, both have a vertical drop of 1600 feet, both offer package deals, and both have plenty for beginners both in terms of hills and instruction. Hunter Mountain is more crowded but has more trails. Windham Mountain is bigger, acreage-wise, but has less trails. Our suggestion? Go to both and find out for yourself. There’s still plenty of winter left for fun comparison work.
