Sometimes the temptation to enter full-on hibernation mode is hard to resist. When it takes about ten minutes just to find the right combination of climate-appropriate layers before leaving the house, we find ourselves wanting to forgo the process altogether and stay inside.

That is, until someone lures us out of the lair with the promise of scones. W. Rogowski Farm, we’re looking at you and your mouth-watering weekend breakfast.

In between touring the winter farm market circuit, catering events, and preparing for their monthly Supper Club gathering, the folks at the Walter Rogowski Farm open their doors each weekend to serve what appears to us like the definition of the Hearty Farmer’s Breakfast.

It’s not very nice of us, since Saturday is still several days away, but we’re going to list some of the items they have on the breakfast menu:

Pancakes with bananas, walnuts and bacon
Roasted pepper, garlic, kale and parmesan cheese scones
Potato Leek soup drizzled with truffle oil
Crisp pork belly served with polenta
Grilled cheese sandwich with farm-made smoked onion jam on whole grain bread

We’re not sure what a “Banana chocolate chip Dirt Bomb” is, but it’s just a buck, and at this point, we would be more than happy to rise with the sun to do our own experiential learning.

And this whole time we thought the mimosa-drenched allure of brunch would reign forever. We were wrong.
