Old-School, Uptown Digs in Kingston

Okay, I am somewhat cheating with this post. I stayed at this Uptown Kingston Victorian just last weekend and, obviously, I loved it. The interior, though not extensively photographed for the AirBnB listing, is mostly beautiful, rich woodwork. As I was told, it’s because the house was built by a lumber tycoon for his family. In its current incarnation, the home is hosted by a Brooklyn expat named Chrissy. This third floor bedroom, out of the handful available, has a Queen-size bed and A/C unit but, unfortunately, no private bath. In addition to the welcoming atmosphere and pleasing accommodations, the locale of the house is within walking distance to all sorts of historic sites, dining and nightlife. Down the street is local brewery Keegan Ales, where you can share a pint with a friend or one of the friendly Keegan kitties (seriously, cover your drink). Saturday is the farmers’ market, and, as we at Upstater very well know, Kingston is home to an abundance of good eats.
