We first discovered this c.1790s former tavern in Delaware County about a year ago. The price hasn’t budged form $350,000, but then again, neither has our fascination with it. Look to our original post for a little bit of history on this shake Colonial (including some background on a double murder that took place in the early 1800s, the victims of which are buried on the property. CHILLS!), but it’s been a tavern, meeting house, safe house for the Underground Railroad, and now, it’s one of our favorite houses in the Catskills. We want to walk through the house and open every cupboard, dig around every nook and cranny, make a fire in every one of its fire places (especially the kitchen fireplace, where we’d also cook over it), and venture out at night to find that grave stone marking the location of the two murder victims. Stunning property. Someone please buy this historic gem.
