The Pope of Trash Comes to the Basilica Hudson

Drop everything you’ve got planned for Saturday night, Oct. 18, and go see John Waters at the Basilica Hudson (GMAP), instead. The Hairspray, Cry Baby, and Pink Flamingos director (and our favorite guest voice on the Simpsons) will be performing his one-man show “The Filthy World, Vol. 2” with proceeds benefiting the Basilica Arts and AIDS Council of Northeastern New York. If you’re squeamish about taboo topics, you should definitely go to his show as a therapeutic means of de-squeamishifying yourself. If you’re already a huge Waters fan, you’ll know exactly what you’ll get and you’ll love every minutes of it. If you’ve already made plans to see a screening during the Woodstock Film Festival that night, pop over to Finch: life curated, located at 613 Warren Street, on Saturday 10/18 at 2 pm. Waters will be there reading from his book, Carsick: John Water Hitchhikes across America.
