Ready for Prime Time: The 1850 House in Rosendale
Upstater | August 29, 2012It has been, since it opened in 1850, the Central Hotel, the Hoffman House, the Hotel Bonnie Doon and Joe Hill’s Hotel, among other names. Now it’s called The 1850 House (guess when it was built?) and the grand Italianate has been restored and recently re-opened as a hotel in downtown Rosendale.
We like the looks of the insides: modern, but not too; clean but not cold. Looks like a great place to stay while house hunting. Summer rates range from $179 to $225 per night for a standard room ($179/$189 weekday and $215/$225 weekends). There’s also a two-bedroom suite for $279 during the week and $345 on weekends. Seasonal rates will shift in November.
