The Renovations Have Already Begun on this Roxbury Gothic Victorian, $99,000

If we were to consider picking up and moving to the mountains, we would put the village of Roxbury in Delaware County high on our short list of destinations. The charming small town is slow-paced and bucolic, it’s true, but there’s a swathe of creative energy that cuts through Roxbury in the form of place like the Roxbury Motel, one of the most stylish accommodations in the Catskills, and the Roxbury Arts Group, which ensures that the area gets its fair share of public performances, art exhibitions, workshops, classes, presentations, and demonstrations. The village itself includes lots of Victorian and Colonial homes, as well as a cluster of historic buildings in Kirkside Park: Jay Gould Reformed Church, Kirkside farmhouse, and Kirkside barn, all built around the turn-of-the-century.

This Gothic-inspired home was also built at the turn-of-the-century, and it has the potential to become one stylish renovation right in the heart of the village. In fact, the work has already started, as is evidenced by the upstairs bedrooms (oh, those floors, though) and the fact new sheetrock, boiler, and water heater come included. Honestly, the house doesn’t look half bad, quite livable, in fact, and lots of original details remain like the wood staircase, bay window in the living room, and big windows. Also comes with an enclosed glass porch.
