Rental of the Week: Schoolfield Country House, Germantown

  |  June 12, 2012

Here’s a property we found in our Upstater Classifieds listings. The Schoolfield Country House, located off of Route 9G in Germantown (Columbia County), is a lovely Italianate located close to the Hudson River and about mid-way between Tivoli and Rhinebeck. The current owner purchased the house in 1998, and it was in disrepair. Since then, the house has undergone extensive, painstaking restoration (you can read all about the owner’s trials, tribulations, and triumphs on his engaging Schoolfield house journal, which we think some of you renovation junkies might find pertinent to your interests). The house is on 8 garden-filled acres on a country road.

During the summer, the house rents for $2000/week or $375/ night, minimum two nights on weekends and three nights July-September.
