Sure, you can hit up the indoor flea markets year-round, but let’s face it: Some of those indoor markets, which shall remain nameless, resemble something more akin to a massive dollar store than a treasure trove of ephemera. We all know that the good stuff is outside on tables, basking in the spring time sun. And for flea marketeers and yard sale enthusiasts, this has been one very long winter. That’s all about to change as local outdoor markets start up again, and we have your guide to some local favorites. This is, by no means, and exhaustive list, so please let us know in the comments about your favorite flea markets. We’re always on the search for more.

Rinaldi’s Market, Poughkeepsie (GMAP):

Rinaldi’s is more than just a flea market. It’s a four-decade-old institution. The market starts up again on Sunday, April 6 and will be open every Sunday, 8am-4pm through October.

High Falls Flea Market, High Falls (GMAP):

The picturesque Ulster County hamlet holds their flea market every Sunday from 9am-4pm. This year, the shopping begins April 12 through the end of October. While you’re in town, have lunch at the Egg’s Nest and go look at the falls, whydoncha.

Phoenicia Flea, Phoenicia (GMAP):

You know all the cool kids will be at this one, which is held at The Graham & Co. in the village of Phoenicia. The popular market will begin its tenure Memorial Day weekend, May 23 & 24. Check the schedule for the rest of the weekend dates.

Mower’s Market, Woodstock (GMAP):

It wouldn’t be summer with good old Mower’s, situated in a shady spot behind Bread Alone in the heart of Woodstock village. Veggie and plant/flower vendors set up shop there, too. This year, the market opens May 16 and stays open every Saturday and Sunday, 9am-dusk, through November.

Beacon Flea Market, Beacon (GMAP):

The market located on Henry Street opens Sunday, April 12 at noon. Go enjoy the musical stylings of Craig Chin on opening day. Looking to vend? They’re looking for vendors.

Kingston Night Market, Kingston (GMAP):

While the Night Market isn’t a flea, we’re still excited about opening night on May 15. Expect to find lots of locally made items and food vendors. Shop from 5pm-9pm through mid-October. Check the schedule for all market dates.
