Sweet, Affordable Victorian in Saugerties, $159,900
Kandy Harris | September 30, 2015I spend a lot of time at Falling Waters Preserve in Saugerties. It’s my favorite local place to walk and take in some sweeping views of the Hudson River, not to mention spending some quality time listening to the soothing sounds of (spoiler alert) falling water. Living in the village, I’m plenty close enough to my favorite haunt to visit whenever I want, but I’ve also toyed with the idea of living closer, and this little Victorian off of Route 32 would be just the type of place I would consider. The price is right, and it includes two bedrooms plus a large attic that the current owners use as a master bedroom. New kitchen and paint job, too. While the house sits close to Route 32, which is a busy Saugerties road, it has a quarter-acre’s worth of fenced backyard to make your personal oasis. Taxes are around $4600/year, probably less than you’d find right in the village for a comparable property. Combine the mortgage with the taxes, and you’d still likely be paying less than renting. Falling Water is a 5 minute drive away or a totally reasonable 2-mile bike ride.
2196 Route 32, Saugerties (Benjamin Realty)
