The Madalin Hotel, now Hotel Tivoli

Visitors to the village of Tivoli in Dutchess County would be hard-pressed to find a more recognizable landmark than the Madalin Hotel located right in the center of town on Broadway. But two years ago, when the hotel and popular accompanying restaurant, Madalin’s Table, closed down, it created sort of a black hole in the middle of everything. Thankfully, painters and Tivoli residents Brice and Helen Marden bought the place and transformed it into the Hotel Tivoli, a 10 room boutique hotel, and opened the Corner, a 100-seat restaurant where Madalin’s Table used to be. And thanks to a recent article in the Wall Street Journal, we get to take a look at the inside of the new hotel. We won’t keep you in suspense any longer: We absolutely love it. It’s fresh, modern, and bright with lots of retro touches. And, of course, the restaurant seems promising, too, and leans into Moroccan and Mediterranean flavors, so says the article. Sadly, we can’t post picture from the article’s slideshow because we don’t like to get in trouble, so you’ll have a look for yourself at what’s happening at the new Hotel Tivoli. What’s the verdict? Do you love it, or do you LOVE it?
