Take That, All Tomorrow’s Parties!

There’s been a lot of talk about reviving the Borscht Belt by removing the Borscht and replacing it with, say, artisanal root vegetable organic puree with wilted heirloom kale, or that kind of thing (we will happily eat either). And so it was with glee that we welcomed the alt-music festival All Tomorrow’s Parties to Kutsher’s Resort, the apogee of Borscht-ness, in 2009. And then it was with sadness that we said goodbye to them as they left mountains for the seas, in Asbury Park.

Take heart: there’s a new music festival in upstate New York: The Rock n’ Roll Resort. Actually, it’s their third round, but it’s new to us. For three days in April (12-14), at the Hudson Valley Resort and Spa in Kerhonkson, you can be regaled with the music of bands with names like Higher Organix or Dub Apocalypse. Or you can just get a facial.
