If this week exploring southern Putnam County real estate listings has piqued your interest in the area, why not take it for a test drive and stay in one of these Putnam County NY short term rentals over the weekend? Here are some of our favorites that we found on Airbnb.com:
For $80/night, this rental across the road from Lake Carmel is a deal. The space accommodates five guests in a king size trundle bed, twin bunk beds, a small convertible sofa, and cots/inflatable mattress. Cook up dinner in the kitchen after enjoying a kayak around the lake (apartment includes lake rights, canoe, and kayak). 2-night minimum stay. There’s one quirk with this rental: Apartment includes a patio/lower level deck, but guest cannot use it after 9:30pm. Reviewers said this about the lake apartment:

This Mid-Century Modern has plenty of space with 2500 square feet, certainly enough for 10 guest to spread out over three massive bedrooms + finished basement. And, three baths means never having to wait for a shower in the morning. Located in Putnam Valley on 7 acres wooded acres on a mountain, privacy ensured. $150/night, 1-night minimum stay.
“Absolutely loved the space.” – Sulimeira

And finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: The treehouse. It’s not a true treehouse in that it isn’t built into a tree, but its elevated position puts it up in the trees, making it feel like you’re in a cozy, hidden space among nature. Accommodates 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, and if you love vinyl, you’re going to love this rental’s record collection and general Bohemian aesthetic. Situated about an hour + 20 minutes from NYC, the house includes a 1000 square foot wrap around deck overlooking a stream and dedicated grilling deck. Also adjacent to 150 acres of DEP land. $250/night, 2-night minimum stay.
