The Dutchess County Fair in Pictures
Kandy Harris | August 21, 2013The Dutchess County Fair just opened on August 20th, so we decided to head over with the surly pre-teens in tow to check out the goings-on. It was close to evening, so the lighting made the illuminated fairway look downright magical at times. The fair contains all of the basic requisites: Rides (prepare to pay for individual tickets, with most rides costing 3, 4, and 5 tickets each), various fried foods (our favorite? Spacey Tracey’s fried pickles, which are a whole basket-o-noms), livestock, games, exhibits, and crafts vendors. It’s easy to drop a lot of cash on extraneous odds and ends, but we always enjoy taking a wander though the antique village, people-watching, and, of course, snapping a few pictures. We even managed to catch the full blue moon in a couple of shots. The fair runs through August 25th at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck.
