Catskill Fly Tying Photo Exhibit at the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild

The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild is hosting Catskill Fly Tying: The Art of Artifice, a photography exhibition featuring the works of Mark Loete, a Catskills based photographer whose images have appeared in numerous publications including The New York Times and The Woodstock Times. The exhibition includes forty color photographs depicting the long fly fishing tradition of the Catskill Mountains. The opening reception will take place Saturday, May 7 at 4 pm at the Kleinert / James Center for the Arts in Woodstock. The show will remain on view through June 26. Hudson Children’s Book Festival Celebrates Its Eighth Anniversary

Launched in 2009, the Hudson Children’s Book Festival takes place every year the first Saturday in May. This Saturday, May 7 the event will host close to a hundred authors and illustrators, including Julie Fogliano, the New York Times bestselling author of And Then It’s Spring and If You Want to See a Whale. Kentucky Derby Party Held at Equis Art Gallery in Red Hook

Equis Art Gallery in Red Hook is hosting its second annual Kentucky Derby Party this Saturday, May 7 at 4 pm. The gallery, dedicated exclusively to equine art, both vintage and contemporary, currently features the works of oil painter Alecia Barry Underhill. Underhill is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, and an associate member of the American Academy of Equine Art. Learn more at equisart.com.

Mother’s Day Concert at Fisher Center at Bard College

Bard College’s Conservatory Orchestra will perform a concert dedicated to Mother’s Day this Sunday, May 8 at 3 pm at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in Annandale-on-Hudson. The orchestra, conducted by Botstein, will perform Alban Berg’s Seven Early Songs, and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 6. Learn more at fishercenter.bard.edu.
