Cooperstown Summer Music Festival is hosting its last concert of the season this Sunday, August 23 at 7:30 pm at the Otesaga Hotel. Called “1924 Now and Beyond” the performance is dedicated to the art, music and lifestyle of the 1920s. The program includes compositions by Ravel, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Gershwin, and other composers. The Mohonk Barnival
The Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz is hosting the Mohonk Barnival – carnival in a barn Saturday, August 22. At 7:30 pm magician Chris Anthony will perform a magic show, followed by live music with the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Boys at 8:45 pm. For more information, visit mohonk.com/calendar.
Open Eye Theater / Summer Shortcuts
The Open Eye Theater in Margaretville is hosting Summer Shortcuts V, a production of nine ten-minute plays written, directed and performed by local residents. Amie Brockway, the theater’s executive and artistic director, wrote Dear Peter, an adaptation from The Story Girl novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Hobart Book Village / Author Signing Day
Hobart Book Village is hosting an Author Signing Day Saturday, August 22 from 1 to 4 pm at several bookstores on Main Street.
