Carrie Haddad Gallery in Hudson is hosting a group show Abstraction, opening reception Saturday, July 18 at 6 pm. Painter Adam Cohen is showing Clairvoyant, Enchanted, Reflecting Pool, and a few others of his new works. Earlier in 2015 Cohen’s painting Intuition was selected among the finalists in the Art Olympia International Competition held in Tokyo, Japan. Justice Ginsburg at Glimmerglass Opera Festival
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be on stage at Glimmerglass Opera Festival this Saturday, July 18 at 3 pm, sharing her passion for operatic music. Members of the Young Artists Program will perform, and Judge Ginsburg will provide commentary. Judge Ginsburg has been a presence at the festival for years. Phoenicia Art Tour
Phoenicia Art Tour, formerly known as Shandaken Art Tour begins this Thursday, July 16 at 8 pm with a jazz concert at The Arts Upstairs gallery, and concludes Sunday, July 19 with a Tail-End Tail-Gate party at the Catskill Interpretive Center. Established in 2008, the tour has grown in popularity to include some thirty artists working in all media. Dave Channon, Steve Heller, Christina Varga, Karin Wolf, Howard Harrison, and others will open their studios or exhibit in public spaces Saturday and Sunday, July 18 – 19. On Friday, July 17 at 7 pm there will be a storytelling event at Mama’s Boy Café. “Word of Mouth” features storytellers such as poet Anique Taylor, journalist Violet Snow, and motivational speaker Joel Linchitz. New York City Ballet at Saratoga Performing Arts Center
Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC), one of the best performing arts venues in the country, is hosting dancers from the New York City Ballet who have performed at SPAC since July 7. La Sylphide, a romantic ballet written in the 1800s (music by Herman Severin Lovenskiold, libretto by Adolphe Nourrit) will be performed every evening through Saturday, July 18.
