Three-Bedroom Arts & Crafts Bungalow near Rosendale, Ulster County, $210,000

  |  June 15, 2017

Here’s a neat-as-a-pin early Craftsman originally built in the 1890s. For the first-time buyers-friendly listing price, the 1200 square foot home includes lots of original craftsman details like a striking wood-paneled front staircase with tile flooring, wood window frames, wood floors, door frames, and cabinetry. And, of course, it also has the elusive third bedroom we’ve been searching for all week. The kitchen could stand some updates, but overall, this little bungalow is, as the kids like to say, da bomb.

Color us surprised by the low property taxes listed for this Ulster County property. Just over $4000/year, according to the official MLS listing, which is not bad for a three-bedroom home on nearly a half-acre lot. As for the location, we love it. Not only is the property less than 15 minutes from the center of Kingston city, it’s close to the village of Rosendale, less than five minute away, which also happens to be one of our favorite small towns in the Hudson Valley. Why? You should go visit and find out for yourself, and while you’re there, pop into the Rosendale Theatre for a movie or live performance, enjoy something tasty from the Rosendale Cafe (a vegetarian haven), see some live music or participate in an open mic at Market Market Cafe, and walk around town enjoying music and vendors during the Rosendale Street Festival July 15 & 16, 2017. Don’t forget to walk the trestle!

The hamlet of Tillson, where this property is located, is more of a big residential neighborhood with a few businesses here and there, including a wine store right across the street from here so no need to drive to get the evening’s provisions. Speaking of not driving, NYC Adirondack Trailways bus from Port Authority stops near the property, making it a possibility for those who commute.
