Thrillist.com: 13 Best Restaurants Not in NYC
Kandy Harris | July 25, 2014Thrillist.com recently posted their list of the 13 best restaurants outside of NYC and the boroughs, and almost half of them are Upstater-area eateries. Fish & Game in Hudson got the nod, as did Woodstock’s Bear Cafe, Brushland Eating company in Bovina, New World Bistro Bar in Albany (owned by Saugerties’ New World Home Cooking chef Ric Orlando), and Brasserie 292 in Poughkeepsie. Good list, but there are so many others we could add onto that: China Rose in Rhinecliff, Henry’s Farm to Table in Milton, La Florentina in Kingston, Boitson’s in Kingston, Miss Lucy’s Kitchen in Saugerties, Peekamoose in Big Indian, Mexican Radio in Hudson (but that’s also in SoHo and Schenectady so maybe it doesn’t count), The Heron in Narrowsburg, and on, and on, and on. We could go on for several more paragraphs and broken down into subcategories. But we’d rather hear from you! Please tell us your favorite restaurant in the Hudson Valley or Catskills or both. We love to hear about new discoveries and old favorites.
