Stylish Ulster County Cottage For Sale with Low Taxes, $139,999

Find style on a shoestring budget with this low price, low tax Ulster County cottage for sale…

We’d always heard that the town of Olive in Ulster County had the lowest taxes in the area. But is it true? We decided to test that theory in the most unscientific way possible: By finding a house in Olive that we love, and then looking up the property taxes.

Lo and behold! On our first try, we found this adorably cozy two-bedroom Tiny House on an acre of land. Fresh from a renovation, this 714 square foot gem packs a mighty punch in terms of style. With a cool, crisp interior and new everything (this was down-to-the-studs reno), the cottage is a sweet retreat or a full-time residence if the size fits your life. Our favorite detail is the double antique doors on sliders in the dining room.

This cottage is situated on .88 acre piece of land near the Ashokan Reservoir, Slide Mountain, Mohonk Preserve, the Shawangunk Ridge, and the rest of the Catskill Mountains. Also includes a detached screened-in porch and detached garage.

And the taxes? They were $1885 in 2017.
