Just 12 hours?? We think you should take a whole weekend for your trip, but we admire anyone who attempts to squeeze some good, outdoorsy Hudson Valley fun into a single day, and this recent guide from Village Voice seems to pack a lot into a short period of time.

What we appreciate about this day trip guide is that it’s realistic about the fact that you should drive up here. And, it suggests that if you don’t have a car, rent a Zipcar, instead. It doesn’t mention, however, that you can now rent a Zipcar at some Metro-North stations around the Hudson Valley, including the Beacon train station, which is close enough to the destinations in the Village Voice guide (lower Orange County, Cold Spring, Peekskill, etc.) to justify the $89/day (prices vary) rental fee.

What’s your favorite way to see the Hudson Valley on a limited time frame? We would love to hear about it, so let us know in the comments!
