Warwick NY Village Colonial

Got kids? Bring them home to this turn-of-the-century Warwick NY village Colonial with four bedrooms, three baths, and 2100+ square feet of space.

Before we hit the interior features, let’s talk about the location. 84 South Street, Warwick is right in the center of the Orange County village in the midst of a picket-fence neighborhood lined with trees. School age kids are within walking distance of the middle and high schools, and the nearest public elementary school is across the street, as is a park with a playground. Definitely a family-friendly locale about 90 minutes from NYC. And, to tie it into this week’s theme of homes near the slopes, this house is situated about 5 minutes from Mount Peter, a good place to take in a full day of winter sports fun.

Speaking of family-friendly, there’s no shortage of space inside the house – which has been freshly painted, by the way – with a large living room, formal dining room, and a finished attic. Also boasts a new electric system, central air-conditioning (yes please), and a hot tub. The quarter-acre lot includes a detached single car garage and a wide driveway.

If this house doesn’t scream “American Nuclear Family,” we don’t know what does, and given the listing price of around $300K, it’s practically affordable. This part of Orange County isn’t exactly known for its low, low property taxes (head north to Ulster or west to Sullivan County if you’re looking for that), however, so we were somewhat pleasantly surprised that the taxes for this property are under $10K a year.
